About Blue Orkids Goldington

We are a 60-place nursery. Places are available for babies and children from 3 months to 5 years. Funded 2-, 3-, and 4-year-old places available as well as the option to access further hours between 8 am & 6.00 pm. We pride ourselves in delivering excellent care and early education with the children at the centre of everything that we do. Our promise is to support every child as individuals.

Our Rooms

We treat every child as an individual and celebrate lots of different diverse celebrations to ensure all children are being treated equally.

We have 3 rooms in nursery and they are:

aged 6months to 2 years = 12 children in tota

aged 2 years to 3 years = 15 children in total

aged 3 years to 5 years = 16 children in tota

Our Outdoor Area

We have two sections one for our Babies and one for our Toddler and Pre-School to share. The garden is very spacious to enable the children to free play among themselves. We do spend a lot of our time outside as children love to be able to be themselves and have a much wider space for them to be able to use their gross motor skills such as making their own obstacle course.

When the weather is lovely we do take the children out for little walks around the village, they put on their little high vis jackets, either in a push chair or walk on reins. We discuss about the environment and what we see.

We meet all your child’s individual needs, interests and are supportive to parents.

My son has thrived here. He is so fond of all the children and staff, who go above and beyond to ensure he feels happy and safe. Communication is excellent and I couldn’t recommend it more!

Excellent nursery - they have really looked after my daughter since she was 9 months old

Both my children have attended this nursery and my youngest daughter still attends the nursery. She absolutely loves going into nursery. Being able for her to attend the pre-school term time has been great as having an older child at school means we aren't paying for her to attend when she doesn't need to. But it is great that we have the flexibility to book her in during the half terms if needed.

All staff are amazing and really show how much they care for the children. Both my daughters have loved going into nursery and have never not wanted to go in. We will be gutted to be leaving in the summer for my daughter to start school.

Blue Orkids @ Wootton Community Nursery is a fantastic nursery. Our daughter has been attending four days a week since she was 11 months old. Her bond with all the staff (including their wonderful chef) leaves us beaming. She skips into nursery with a smile on her face. It is a small, intimate nursery that provides that home away from home feel, with staff who care for the children as if they were their own. Our daughter has multiple food allergies which have been dealt with and provided for with amazing professionalism and care. We know that they understand her needs and she eats well every day with homecooked meals provided onsite. A wonderful asset to have in the village.

We Operate a Key person System

We operate a key person system in the nursery where each child has a key person. The key person observes their key child regularly and completes assessments, which helps to identify any support that the child may need. We try to identify children with SEN as early as possible. Nutritious Food

We have a set menu of which we have a nursery chef who cooks onsite. He provides us with snacks in the morning, lunch at 12pm, afternoon snack and then tea. We have a wide variety of meals her such as:

Settling In

When a new child is starting with us we believe that the settle in sessions are so important for not only the child but for the parent/carers. We offer at first 3 settle sessions. The first one we ask the parent/carers to stay with their child for an hour then the next 2 sessions are longer but with less time with the parent/carer in the room so then the child and the parent/carer can then start to feel safe and secure with the educators in the room. If we feel the child needs more time then of cause this is something we can do.
